Pro-Secure SR1 Sliding Gates
Procter Contracts Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates are security entrance gates that have been independently tested and verified as complying with the globally recognised LPCB standard LPS 1175 Issue 8.0 Security Rating SR1. The LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) is part of BRE Global, a third-party approvals body, and LPS 1175 is a standard for certification of intruder-resistant building components, strongpoints, security enclosures and free-standing barriers. Our steel Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates are security rated to SR1 and listed in the LPCB Red Book.

Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates – product overview
We manufacture Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates in a range of widths and heights, predominantly for vehicular access but also for pedestrian access where large numbers of people need to enter or leave a site. Smaller sizes can be manually operated but most of our sliding gates are powered or automated. To complement the powered/automated gates, we can supply and install various access control systems.
Compared with swing gates, sliding gates are inherently more difficult to force open, they can be installed at entrances having a gradient, and they also require little space when open. Moreover, unlike ordinary sliding gates, our Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates benefit from enhanced security, as well as the internationally recognised security rating that enables specifiers to demonstrate they have performed due diligence in securing the site perimeter. For projects required to be Secured by Design, the SR1 rating is a major advantage.

What are the key features of Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates?
Our Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates are all-steel and have been developed from our conventional sliding gates, which we have been producing for decades. Security results from a combination of factors: highly robust construction; cut-resistance; climb-resistance; and reinforced latch areas.
The frame and support structure are designed and manufactured to high standards so the gate moves smoothly and quietly. Top-quality bearings and guides ensure a long, trouble-free lifetime for the guidance mechanism.
Each gate has a robust welded framework fabricated from RHS (rectangular hollow section) steel, braced as necessary. Cladding is heavy-duty 868 wire mesh, fully welded into the frame. This mesh provides high security yet also permits clear visibility for security patrols and CCTV systems.
Gate and support structures are hot-dip galvanised for long-lasting corrosion resistance. Customers have the option of specifying a tough polyester powder coat on top of the galvanising for further protection and improved aesthetics; our standard colours are green and black, or we can apply almost any other RAL colour on request. Finishes are applied in accordance with BS EN ISO 1461 (Hot dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel articles – Specifications and test methods) and BS EN 13438 (Paints and varnishes – Powder organic coatings for hot-dip galvanised or sherardized steel products for construction purposes).
With their robust construction, corrosion-resistant finish and high-quality mechanical components, Pro-Secure SR1 sliding gates require little or no maintenance over their long lifetime. The main exception is that automated or powered gates need periodic inspections to ensure they continue to operate safely and reliably. If required, we offer maintenance contracts or, if the gate suffers damage during use, we can undertake repairs on-site or at our factory.
