Contracts Manager (Wales & South of England)

Job Title: Contracts Manager
Department: Fencing Department
Reporting to: Departmental Director
Location: Caerphilly
Salary: £40-50,000, subject to experience.

Due to continued growth, one of the UK’s leading Fencing Contractors is currently seeking a Contracts Manager to work full time out of their South Wales office.

The company is a well-established organisation in the Fencing industry, involved in a wide range of projects installing perimeter fencing products, such as timber fencing, steel fencing, environmental noise barriers, automated gates and bespoke related products.

Customers are commercial, industrial and educational organisations across Wales and the South of England, with example projects including: simple fence and gate solutions around a school; in-house manufactured louvres and railings at a train station; bespoke screens and bike storage at a large city-centre development; 1km of 9m-high acoustic fencing at a national distribution centre; and palisade fencing around media production facilities.

The company are now looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with large contractors, a proven track record, excellent industry experience, be hardworking, driven and looking to join a growing organisation.

To enable you to successfully carry out your role, you will be provided with a company car (or car allowance), phone, laptop, death-in-service and be part of the company’s bonus scheme. Your working hours will be Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm Friday 8am – 3pm. However, it is pertinent to note that you may be required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the efficient and proper performance of your duties.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and supervise site contracts to deliver a wide range of projects within time and budget constraints
  • Ensure quality and safety requirements are never compromised on site
  • Organise and control directly-employed and sub-contract labour, maintaining high standards throughout the projects
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, ensuring they are always delighted with the products and services the company has provided
  • Prepare risk assessments, method statements, quality plans, invoicing, etc
  • Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specifications
  • Ensure that deliveries of materials meet the program requirements
  • You will also be required to complete initial Site Surveys to help win work
  • Provide timely updates to clients and the admin department on job status, managing expectations on any delays
  • Provide prompt and accurate reporting to the senior management/Directors as required
  • Organise relevant training
  • Will be required to work away

Key Skills

  • Experience within the commercial Fencing Industry
  • Highly-organised, with excellent project management skills, handling a number of complex and high-value projects
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent IT skills, using Word, Excel and in-house software
  • Excellent Communicator
  • Proactive with a positive approach
