Gate Maintenance
How often you should service your gate, will depend on how many cycles the gates perform i.e. this is the number of times your electric gate opens and closes (cycles). Generally speaking, low usage residential electric driveway gates should be serviced at least 1-2 times per year, medium usage automated car park gates for an apartment block should be serviced at least 3 times per year, and heavy usage commercial automatic gate openers require the most frequent amounts of servicing of at least 4 times of maintenance per year.
Powered gate safety features
If the gates are closing while a person or vehicle is passing through and again as per the sliding gates, there are light beams that cover the space between the gates that, when broken, cause the gates to reverse and return to the fully open position. This further safety feature completing a whole range which ensures that Procter sliding and swing gates are entirely safe and fully compliant with safety legislation.
How to use <Gate Risk Assessment Calculator>
Procter Contracts has produced a video walkthrough of its free Gates Risk Assessment Calculator to demonstrate how easy it is to use, whether the gate in question is still being designed, part-built or complete, and whether it is a new gate or one that has been in operation for some time.
Pro-glide5 sliding gate
Sliding Gates are space efficient and can cover large openings up to 15m each and for even larger entrances a pair of gates can be used to cover an opening of double the size.
Automatic Telescopic Gate for Lubricant Factory
An important consideration when deciding if a telescopic gate is suitable for the job is how the level the ground is, or can be made to be, below the gate. This is because, and like a tracked sliding gate, a telescopic gate runs on a track and therefore the track needs to be on level ground in order for the gate to operate.
Pro-fold bi-folding gates
Pro-fold bi-folding gates operate fast, have a much shorter opening/closing time than either swing gates or sliding gates (hence folding gates are often termed ‘speed gates’). In addition, thanks to the folding design, the gates are very compact when open.
