Health and Safety

Procter Contracts is committed to continuous improvement in our management of health and safety and we are constantly training and developing our employees and our subcontractors.

Every contract is fully risk assessed and all operations covered by method statements and undertaken by properly trained and supervised erectors.

We are 100% CSCS and new recruits are fully trained before being allowed onto our sites.

Procter Contracts is accredited to Chas, Constructionline, UVDB Achilles and Safe Contractor schemes.

Induction
Upon commencement of employment all Procter Fencing staff are inducted through our online induction process and are provided with our Health and Safety Policy and Company Handbook, which is also communicated to employees at the induction stage.

H&S

We are totally committed to Health and Safety and engage in monthly meetings, which are lead by Jeremy Procter the Managing Director, together with the Production Manager and our Health and safety representative. Any employee with concerns regarding health and safety must report to the H&S representative, if he is not available they must report to the Production Manager or Jeremy Procter the Managing Director who has the overall responsibility for H&S. All H&S issues will be discussed, if necessary these will be communicated to the staff via a meeting with the individual or in a memo to all. A copy of the memo will be displayed on the Health Safety notice board.

In addition, Farrington Health and Safety provide us with all our plant training requirements, site safety issues/site inspections, ongoing H&S advice and also a 24-hour telephone advice service. (see attached certificate)

Method statements

Site-specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments are produced by the Contracts Manager who will ensure the correct equipment has been selected for the particular task and communicated and acknowledged by employees prior to site commencement.

PPE
All our internal and external staff are provided with the necessary PPE for their role which is strictly monitored by our H&S representative in-house, and our Contracts Managers for all our external site based employees.

Accidents

We are totally committed to safe methods of work at all times and ensure Managers are fully responsible for investigating any accidents, incidents or near misses occurring within his/her area of responsibility and they are properly investigated and recorded, and any follow-up action is carried out. The safety advisor is notified of any accident, incident or near miss that may be considered reportable.

Training
We have our own qualified in-house Health and Safety professional the Production Manager who holds a NEBOSH Certificate and we are currently in the process of training our site supervisors to SSSTS standards, together with our Managers to SMITS.
